The Life and Art of Robert Powers
Hello everyone! my name is rob powers.
Rob Powers is a composer in the South-Michigan area. Although born in Seattle, Rob grew up in Brighton, Michigan. Having gone through the Brighton band program playing trumpet and being a student conductor, he fell in love with band and music. Rob earned his bachelor's degree in music education at Central Michigan University (2021) and has been teaching since then until recently, giving himself the freedom to focus on a passion I've had since middle school: composing!
Rob has been composing since high school and learning about his craft through his favorite composers. Much of Rob's music is inspired by that of the French impressionist period, the German/Austrian composers of the late and Neo-Romantic periods, and popular film composers. He has music for orchestra, concert band, chamber ensembles, and choir.
